Islander 36 Association

Benicia July 4th Cruise
Thursday - Sunday, July 4-7, 2019

Suggested rendezvous and departure point Thursday morning, 7/4, is at the north end of Treasure Island at 1130. We will be riding a building flood current most of the way, so averaging about 6.5 over the bottom, we would arrive at Benicia around 1530.

In all cases, monitor VHF Channel 72 as a common Islander hailing channel. It's always fun to sail with other Islanders, and even if you are not right together, checking in on 72 around 1100 hours will tell others if you have gotten a head start, or are coming up astern.

When you arrive, stop at the Guest/Fuel dock and check in with the Harbormaster to pay your docking fee.

Not only is Benicia is a fun town with a good marina and events like glass blowing, but there is a parade down First St. scheduled by the City!

But most important, Ruby & Rob Blenderman (White Horses) are inviting us to their "Art Palace and B&B" on Thursday 7/4 for a party at 1600 hours. Bring along an hors de oeuvre or dessert to share. We appreciate a few of those coming by car to provide shuttle service between the dock and Ruby's for the party - thanks!

Thursday night July 4th is fireworks night at Benicia and we'll head down to the docks after dinner at Ruby's.

A few slips are available but you need to tell Bob DaPrato ASAP by filling in the reservation form below. Be sure to select the right option for each night, Thursrday, Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday.

For any who would like to tuck in a Delta Cruise, this is the perfect jumping off point.

So mark your calendars, and fill out the reservation form below.
