Families, kids and dogs summed it up. With the summer vacation season rapidly winding down, we had folks just back from France, or London -- or their Staycation right here. Guarded and loved by 9 dogs, 20 families with 39 adults and 25 kids were represented as best we could count.

Our mild summer continued with pleasant temperatures for our start, cooling as the sun headed into the west. but the kids loved runnning in the park and flying an RC jet aircraft -- until it experienced one too many crash landings. The newest generation of BPMDS kids were all well behaved with attentive moms at hand. Amy Rhoads gets the track record award for trying to keep up with Henry who has mastered crawling into a speed event! These are the future Bubb kids and their parents the future PTA members who will carry on a great tradition.

And speaking of great traditions, Kim Thompson (and Maverick) came by to say hello. Kim is known to the teenagers as their 5th grade teacher at Bubb, but is now - starting officially in about a week - the Principal at Graham. She and Doreta Strotman were comparing notes about Doreta's grandson's wedding last weekend where many of the attendees were students at Bubb that both of them knew! What a great neighborhood we have.

Diantha Galli, one of those bright "PTA of the future" moms, brought a delicious Corn Casserole that had many people asking for the recipe. She agreed to share -- as long as she didn't have to do Bubb things until her kids were in Bubb! (Fair deal.) Here it is:

Corn Casserole

Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 (15 ounce) can creamed corn
1 (15 ounce) can whole kernel corn
1 egg
1 (8.5 ounce) package corn bread mix
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
In a mixing bowl, stir together the sour cream, butter, creamed corn, corn nibblets, egg, corn muffin mix & cheese.
Pour into a 1 quart casserole dish and bake for 1 hour (or until center is set).
