Fall Meeting

It was a beautiful day for the Fall Meeting at the San Francisco Yacht Club. We gathered in the Cove House, and thus had a fine private space all to ourselves. We counted over 25 boats represented, and about 45 people in total. A special round of applause went to John Murphy of Phoenix who planned his travels to be present.

We had the usual Officer's reports, and elected next year's officers. Roger & Larry gave out the prizes, again mainly gathered by Steve Schneider on Absolute, and Jim Robinson on Pilot. Tim & Rhonda gave out chocolate boats and a 2000 calendar with the owner's picture to the cruisers. Every boat present got a copy of the Harbor Guide - a wealth of information about northern and souther california harbors and yacht clubs.

Our main speaker was Chris Shining of North Sails, and we carried on for a long time about the sail programs on the America's Cup boats (North is doing 11 of the 12), then talked about sails on the Islander. Chris then passed out a price list for new sails, with the offer of a discount of up to 25% for orders placed by December 1st.

We are a little short on pictures, but we sure had fun! Primary photo credits to Bill Higdon. Check out the fun below.
