ENJOY Summer's Longest Day, Saturday, June 22, 2019 |
Two for the price of one! It's both a race and cruise to celebrate summer's longest sailing day - Summer Sailstice. The cruise part begins on Friday evening for those sailing into Brisbane Marina - on the west shore of the south bay half an hour south of Hunters Point. Sierra Point YC is sponsoring a potluck at their clubhouse and we can join the fun. There is both a nice long guest dock and slips available. So sail on down and let's have fun. We'll kick it off with "attitude adjustment" aboard Rick & Sandy Van Mell's Vanishing Animal - Pier 3, Slip 17. We'll even try to get you a slip close by if one is available. On Saturday, 6/22, Sierra Point YC's "Treasure Island" race will be our Season's Championship race. It starts at the north end of the south bay shipping channel at 1400 and goes up around Treasure Island and returns to finish at the Sierra Point/Brisbane Marina entrance channel. And just like 3 Bridge Fiasco, you can go around TI either way. The course is just under 19 miles. There is a Skippers meeting at 1245 - 1300 at SPYC and a $15 entry fee for boats that are not members of SPYC. Here's the course: Link to Notice of Race,SIs and online Entry Form LInk to Sierra Point YC: sierrapointyc.org/ There is a big guest dock at the marina and open slips. Cruise Coordinator Rick Vann Mell will coordinate slips with the harbormaster - just be sure to fill out the reservation form below to let us know when you'd like dock space. After the race on Saturday SPYC will host a burger-type dinner where we can swap stories and celebrate victories. Let us know if you want dock space to stay over on Saturday night and go home on Sunday. More questions? Email Cruise Coordinator Rick Van Mell. |
