Suggested rendezvous and departure point Saturday morning is north end of Treasure Island. If you rendezvous there by 1100 on Saturday 7/2, you will catch the end of a flood all the way to Benicia, arriving around 1500. In all cases, monitor VHF Channel 72 as a common Islander hailing channel. It's always fun to sail with other Islanders, and even if you are not right together, checking in on 72 around 1100 hours will tell others if you have gotten a head start, or are coming up astern. When you arrive, stop at the Guest/Fuel dock and check in with the Harbormaster to pay your docking fee. Not only is Benicia is a fun town with a good marina and events like glass blowing, but there is a parade down First St. scheduled by the City! But most important, Ruby & Rob Blenderman (White Horses) are inviting us to their "Art Palace and B&B" on Sunday evening 7/3 for a dinner. Bring along an hors de oeuvre or dessert to share. We appreciate a few of those ocming by car to provide shuttle service between the dock and Ruby's for the dinner - thanks! Monday night July 4th is fireworks night if you are still at Benicia and haven't headed for home and work on Tuesday. We have 10 slips for Sunday & Monday nights, but only about 5 for Saturday. Be sure to select the right option for each night, Saturday, Sunday AND Monday. For any who would like to tuck in a Delta Cruise, this is the perfect jumping off point. So mark your calendars, and fill out the reservation form below. Questions? Email Coordinator Bob DaPrato. |
