Coyote Point Cruise, July 19, 2013

(If you like, you can skip down through the prose and go straight to the pictures below!)

A combination of factors resulted in a "drive in" cruise as 10 folks representing 5 Islanders enjoyed a great get-together and dinner Friday evening at Coyote Point YC. Freedom Won (Commodore and Nanci Melton) and Vanishing Animal (Rick & Sandy Van Mell) were prepared to sail in, but since no others were, they just came by car to join White Horses (Rob & Ruby Blenderman plus friends Gary & Karen Kennedy), and Zingara (Steve Swanson) and Dayna Marie (Glenn Zimmerman). Both Steve and Glenn keep their boats at Coyote Point.

A typical summer day, with blue skies and 20 knot northwesterly winds piling up whitecaps in the south bay, made for a great view from the second deck of the clubhouse. We had a very relaxed gathering around the bar for cocktails. We moved downstairs to the Regatta Room when Rob's on-going battle with spinal surgeries required him to stretch out on a sofa. We set up tables downstairs and the CPYC staff were most accommodating in bringing our dinner orders downstairs.

The food was delicious, and, as always, Islander folks had a good time.
