Richmond Yacht Club Cruise August 8-10, 2008 |
(If you like, you can skip down through the prose and go straight to the pictures below!)
Richmond Yacht Club provided a beautiful site for a summer cruise-in. The weather could not have been better and what a lovely facility and harbor. Snow Flower, Evanescence, Natural High, Freedom Won and Luna Sea arrived Friday afternoon and had a good amount of camaraderie and beverages to start celebrating John Melton's retirement from the working world.
Saturday morning John managed to get up and Freedom Won, Luna Sea, Pacific High and Captain Hook went out racing. While they were gone Brigid and Blockbuster pulled into dock. Upon the racers' return and the arrival of Ron and Karen Damsen, Captain Zen and Chie, and Bruce and Carol Hunter we headed up to the yacht club deck for drinks and munchies. It was great to see Bruce and Carol for the first time this year!
There was more celebrating John's retirement with his racing crew there. Chef Michael of the RYC prepared a wonderful feast of halibut or chicken cacciatore and all the sides.
Sunday morning we awoke to some overcast but it couldn't undo the beauty of the weekend. Many thanks to Tom Newton and the Richmond Yacht Club for the great visit.
