Westpoint Regatta 7/18/26
Windwalker and Kapai did the Westpoint regatta this year. We much missed Dan and crew on Luna Sea as unforeseen circumstances prevented them from joining the regatta.

Kapai, crewed by my stalwarts Bryce and Reanne enjoyed the long run down to Redwood City. We had a nice start just behind Windwalker who seemed to have around 8 crew aboard. Windwalker expanded their lead on us steadily and was even the first monohull to round Harding Rock before they did a horizon job on us. The next, and last, time we saw them they were at the San Mateo Bridge motoring home as they did not plan to stay the night.

Kapai pulled into Westpoint along side a couple of boats in our division and enjoyed a nice dinner. Bryce and Reanne had staged a car at Westpoint so they left the Commodore after dinner to go home and the Commodore was in his bunk early. Sunday morning I pulled up stakes at 7am and made it back to South Beach Harbor at 9:45 with the help of a nice ebb. All in all a nice day on the bay.

Congratulations to Tom Shoenhair on a nice race. In addition to leading Kapai down to RWC they also scored first in our handicap division!

Cheers,
Commodore Egan
